RHM May 2024 Newsletter

Praise the Lord. Please open the attachment (or use the Google Drive link) to see this month's newsletter. Several prayer requests are there, including 2 sisters who are pregnant. We're also praying about starting a school, and are waiting about 3 weeks for feedback in regard to that before making any decision to move forward. Praying for His blessings and the work of His Holy Spirit in every one of your precious lives! Below are boys and college students worshipping and praying during a recent trip they took to the city of Vizag.

Happy Birthday Pavan!

Pavan is one of 5 children. The 2 oldest girls in his family are giving him cake, Sowmya (left) and Suma. Pavan's birthday was May 4th, Suma's April 27th, and Sowmya's is coming up on the 28th of this month. Precious family! Pavan seems to have a good memory and desire for the Lord and His Word. Please pray for Pavan, that as he grows older he will not lose those good desires within his heart. Your donations are helping all 5 children with their education, their mother a single mom and working in a school as a teacher.

Nothing is Impossible!

The Lord JESUS said that "with man it is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible." Matthew 19:26  That can apply to so many things, and it also applies to change that He alone can do within a person's heart. The bigger boy on the bed with these cute little neighbors of his is Jeevan. Now 12 years old, in 2021 and 2022 he had run away from 2 different hostels, was staying with his distraught mother and totally out of control. I remember visiting his home in early '23 and no one, especially his mother, could reason with him. He was roaming the neighborhood with older boys, and we knew that only a miracle could stop him from destroying his own life at a young age. I had asked Brother Raju to visit him when he could, but not to feel obligated if Jeevan would not listen to anything he said. We think one thing the Lord used in Jeevan's life is that he was drawn to Raju's wife, Pavani. She could talk with him, and he would listen (at least a little bit). We would not invite Jeevan to most of our meetings or excursions because of not wanting his disobedient spirit or bad mouth from influencing other boys. But something happened around June '23, and we began to see big changes in Jeevan's life. Previously he was not at all doing good in school, not attending regularly, and not interested in spiritual things. Now he is in a school with 20 of our other children, and goes mostly every day unless he's not feeling well. His character has changed so much, and now he comes to most all of our meetings, and all of the boys' excursions. He's bonded to Raju, and allows him to bring correction and instruction into his young life. These 3 boys on the bed with him are from non-Christian homes, and we hope Jeevan can now be a good example for them. Truly, we and his mother are praising GOD for the changes. Pray that Jeevan will continue to draw near unto the Lord.

Pray for This Elderly Sister

Below is Thirupamma, who has been part of our widows & elderly program for several years. She's had many health problems over the years, almost monthly giving her some medical reimbursement. She recently had a stroke, which was totally unexpected; sad to see her in this condition. She has definitely lost weight in recent months. Her husband, Chandraiah, also is part of the ministry, and is also very weak these days. Please pray for this precious couple.

Colored Chicks

The chicks are probably looking at each other, wondering what happened! But the children enjoy them, as long as the chicks are little and cute; what happens later, we haven't asked. Brother Raju is surrounded by sisters Soniya (right, 13), Divya (left, 10) and little Kavya (7), all 3 of them having birthdays within the next couple of months. All 3 girls LOVE Bro. Raju, and he and his wife Pavani feel the same about them. Although we see good things in all the girls, we especially thank the Lord for Soniya, who has consistently been a good example to all of our children by her love for the Lord, His Word, and her desire to worship Him. Please pray for these 3 girls and their single mother, who sometimes is having health problems and cannot always work to help her family.

A Good Time in Sunday School

It might not look like your typical Sunday School class, but in the villages "Sunday School" is conducted wherever they can find the most convenient spot. Apparently, 10 year Moses knows how to get the attention of the girls, his hat most likely coming from Brother Bhaskara Rao, who comes to the village a couple of times a month to lead them. Please continue to pray for the Sunday School ministry, for children to have open and receptive hearts, for their relatives and other villagers to also have open hearts to give their lives to Christ JESUS.
